Data Stewardship
Data stewards fill many important roles in data and information management. The broad scope of stewardship includes shaping data strategy and policies, guiding data privacy and protection practices, managing data quality, facilitating data definition and metadata quality, and fostering data literacy. Data steward roles have existed for many years, but take on new importance in the age of self-service data analysis, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. At the same time, expanding regulations increase the importance of data privacy and data protection disciplines. Data stewards are critically important as leaders of collaboration, coordination, and communication among data consumers, data governors, and data management practitioners.
Our Data Stewardship curriculum includes the online courses listed below covering the entire Data Stewardship Body of Knowledge. Each course is accompanied by an optional exam. By completing several exams in accordance with the requirements of Certified Data Steward (CDS) certification you will earn the CDS designation. Click on the course links to explore course details and outlines, learn more about the exams, or watch free Sneak Peeks.
You can purchase the courses individually or enroll in one of our comprehensive CDS Packages at a great discount. Some of the packages even combine data stewardship courses with an in-depth education in data quality, or data governance thus allowing you to earn both CDS and CIMP designations.
