Maria C. Villar is a leader, consultant and writer in the field of enterprise information management, data strategy and digital transformation . She has held senior executive data positions in both the technology and financial sector.
As a leader in enterprise information management, she had led teams responsible for data architecture, data quality, business reporting, master data & records management, data stewardship and data governance. Maria has three times been awarded a Best Practices Award from TDWI for best practices in organization, governance, policies and technologies.. Also in 2017, Maria was recognized by the international society of CDOs (isCDO) for leadership in "Transformation and Collaboration from Inward to Outward". This award recognizes outstanding CDO leadership in driving business outcomes and business collaboration.
As a consultant, Maria brings a real world experience to information management , a strong strategic background as well as demonstrated expertise in building organizations and leading large re-engineering projects.
Maria holds a bachelor in Computer Science and graduate degrees in Management Information Systems and Business Administration. She has been recognized in Hispanic Business Magazine as one of the top 100 Influential Hispanics and received the Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Award.
Maria has guest lectured on the topic of data strategy, data transformation and information management in leading universities, industry conferences and Fortune 500 companies across the country. She has written articles on information management for the TDWI System Journal, The International Association for Privacy Professionals and the Information Management magazine.
