Heather Hedden is an experienced consultant, practitioner, and educator in in information management, specializing in taxonomies. She has worked as a consultant in different consulting firms and independently serving varied industries to help them make their content and data easier to find. She has also worked as a staff taxonomist in publishing, educational technology, and renewable energy industries, and as a knowledge engineer with a taxonomy/ontology software vendor.
Heather is an author of the book, The Accidental Taxonomist, now in its 3rd edition, and she blogs regularly at The Accidental Taxonomist Blog. She regularly presents at conferences in areas including data science, content strategy, knowledge management, digital asset management, and taxonomies. Heather teaches taxonomy and ontology training workshops and provides consulting services through Hedden Information Management.
