If you are a financial services worker from NY, NJ, or CT* you may be eligible to receive an educational grant from the federal government. You do not need to be unemployed to receive this benefit (see below for more information.) eLearningCurve is now on the New York State Workforce Eligible Training Provider list, meaning you can apply NEG funds to the approved eLC programs.

What is an NEG grant?

The New York State Department of Labor has received funding under a National Emergency Grant (NEG) to provide assistance to individuals dislocated as a result of mass layoffs or closing of specific financial service businesses. Please note that you do not need to be unemployed to receive assistance. See "Who is eligible?" for more information.

Who is eligible?

Individuals who were dislocated from one of 31 specific employers after May 31, 2008 may be eligible for assistance under this federal grant.

You do not have to be currently unemployed to receive this training. If you are a financial service worker and feel you may benefit from occupational training to advance in the labor market you may also qualify. How do I apply?

This is a time sensitive program and the National Emergency Grant will expire 12/31/2010 or when all funds run out, whichever comes first. You can apply on-line or in person. In both cases you will need to complete a survey and submit a copy of your resume.


Step 1: Select the program you want to complete. You can choose our CIMP (Certified Information Management Professional) program in one or several tracks (grant is for up to $12,500 per person):
